name that you declared in the login page for the user name, which should be durable for that session for anything which that particular user attempts, as part of the role assigned to that user. Mayhap you will have to assign it to some sort of holding variable, or do the query automatically for everyone at login to populate user variables, even if they do not attempt to use the special page which would require the database authentication. Did any of that make sense to you? Maybe we need to see some code here? -- wwill
