it is not so much constant paranoia as it is by evilsysadmin 2004-12-06 09:36:42
prepared. The burgular alarm is like the fire alarm. When it goes off you should know what to do and what it means.
Even if you do not have a means of defending your house you should have a plan to get out. The kids should know what to do and the parents should know what to do.
Our office has yearly fire alarm drills. That does not mean we live in a state of constant fear that the building will burn down, it just means we know what to do when the alarm goes off.
Same deal with a intruder alarm. What you choose to do is up to you. You should just know to do somehting besides stand there with your thumb up (you know the rest).
