What a freaking morning.
It actually started last night when I started my laundry in the dryer and asked my wife to grab it cause I was going to bed. She woke me up a couple hours later and said that the laundry room is locked. I, in my infinte sleepyness, did not comprehend and said whatever and went back to sleep. I woke up this morning to find that the laundry room was indeed locked. Now as long as I've been at this apartment complex, I've never known them to lock the laundry room. I've gone in at 5:30am and gotten stuff out from the night before, and I've gone in at 12am and not had a problem. But no, the lights were off, and the deadbolt was thrown. I could see the timer on the dryer sitting at 0min with all my work uniforms sitting in it.
Great.
So I called my boss and asked if he had a spare around, no dice. Called the security company for the apartments to see if they had a key, and they never got back to me. Same with the "on call emergency maintenance" people for the apartment. (Gee, now I know who NOT to call for emergencies) In a flash of momentary brilliance, I called my boss back and got the phone number for the guy I work with. I got him on his cell phone as he was walking to the truck, and he was able to run back inside and grab me one of his shirts and pants.
So here I sit in pants that are not mine but fit around the waist, and a shirt that is one size smaller than I'm used to but still fits. I think he has shorter legs than I, cause these things are lookin like hi-waters on me. Oh well, it beats the cargo shorts and T-shirt I drove in with.
There are words to be had with the apartment complex. Short words. Averaging about 4 letters each, I'd say.
