make it all so much better:
1) It MUST automatically recognise each and every piece of hardware placed in it, from 1989 ISA to top-of-the-line USB, and it MUST automatically install the required drivers for it. After installing the drivers (which it may have needed an internet connection for), it then ASKS if you would like to install the optional software that comes with it (ie, scanner software)
2) It has to be configureable. If a warning goes 'ding' and pops up, I want to configure the ding, the number of buttons, the color, and exactly what it says. If I want every error to only have the text "Freakin' heck! Stupid program!" written on it, then dang it, I should be able to.
3) The OS has to have an intrinsic AI. Not a chat-bot, more like tech support and brilliant professor rolled into one. If I hold my mouse cursor over a button and ask what it does, I want the correct answer. If I IM my computer and ask the AI to start some program, it should.
4) Every button should do something. Don't give me an "upgrading" icon if I can't click on it!
5) If something crashes, restart it (unless it is something big, like a game; then ask.) Don't give me useless details, and NO, I DON'T WANT TO REPORT IT! If it's new and interesting, report it; just don't give me another button to click through. |
