My PC would boot with 610kB of free base memory, after my CD, Smartdrv, mouse, himem.sys, aweutil etc etc etc. I was the only person I knew who could play any version of Falcon 3 without any trouble! :) That said, I stuck with good but mainstream kit - Orchid Kelvin64 video, SB AWE32, 3DFX Voodoo, NE2000 network card etc. Ah - fond memories of destroying my eyes trying to see Magic Carpet in that nasty stereogram mode...
