I mean, it seems from all your answers that you do not like those parties at all. There is no reason apparently to go there except others who need you as their alibi to go. By the way, why do they only go when you are going? That's not clear to me. Maybe because they think it's more fun when you are there?
Usually the thing about large parties like those is that you either choose to mix with absolutely everybody, or you try to separate with some people you (can) relate to, and sit with them and some drinks in the corner (what I usually do).
I'm not the biggest fan of those parties as well (and I can relate to the 'want to be able to go home' thing), but it's either (1) know you can find your own place there, (2) get your own car(/taxi) and a hotelroom nearby, or (3) not go at all.
Anyway, you are not responsible for other peoples choices to go or not. That's their own choice. Do what _you_ want to do. |
