...but with that many people, there are usually people in all the rooms - and things in other rooms can be heard anyway. There's not really anywhere quiet but up the garden. There are plenty of things that I would enjoy - but not if I'm all stressy. And yes, I would be going with someone who has a car. But being new year, there will be drinking. And so that person with a car is not going to be able to take me home - which, incidentally is a 5-hour drive at best - at the drop of a hat, even if they were enough of a doormat to be willing to.
