Many that I've seen simply tell the story, "And it was a long time ago, and this happened...." etc. Now of course, "we educated people" will call it just a legend. But I see that more of a matter of personal interpretation than of the book presenting itself as such. One book presents its form of Truth, another presents its form. You take one as legend, another as fact.
But it's not fashionable to go after Native Americans. Christians are OK though. Anytime something Christian is offered, it's assumed to be "forcing" itself onto you, and must be abolished.
Sometimes this does happen. Sometimes this does not. Is the mere fact that this (apparantly popular, according to the article) book is being offered somehow "forcing" you to believe it against your will?
I certainly don't think so.
