I know my family is one of those that can sit together and have dinner without saying anything. It's not that we don't like talking to each other (my brother can attest to that, especially when we haven't met for a while. :P), it's just that we can enjoy silence at times too. Personally I'm not an "intrusive talker". If someone else feels they have to talk, I let them. I rarely interrupt (but rather let myself be interrupted), but once I get started I can talk a whole lot. :)
