I always enjoyed the science classes where we dissected things. That is MUCH better than most home ec classes that teach you how to do chicken casserole with canned cream of mushroom soup. Even if my school's home ec course hadn't died out by the time I had taken it, my mother already taught me that sort of stuff at a much better level- except for sewing, where the aunties had to take over.
