I've driven them both. The S2000 puts out 240BHP from a 2-litre engine, and the RX8 puts out 230BHP from a 1.3-litre rotary engine.
Size/weight is about the same, fuel consumption is about the same. Both come with ABS, airbags blah blah. The RX8 has traction control, back seats, and a boot you could just about stuff a person into. The S2000 has a fairly silly boot, and no traction control.
The S2000 feels a bit snappier on the road, but the RX8 feels smoother. Only place the RX8 loses out is that it's easy to stall when pulling away.
But the S2000 can't turn into a killer robot from the future, and no amount of electric roof can make up for that!
