Just up the street from me I noticed one day that someone had put "anybody but" on top of a Bush-Cheney sign that'd been there for a while. Not stealing, but obviously changing the message... I just had a laugh at it, and the extra words were removed a couple days later. Frankly, I think all the signs should be stolen from all sides. People using their lawns to preach to others about who they should vote for is quite annoying. Ruins the view. Obviously does no public service, as the signs never give any actual reasons for a vote... it's just a "do this because I'm shouting the loudest" matter. Does plenty of public disservice by spawning competitions of who can force passers by to look at the most ugly signs.
