..."the devil made me do it"? I don't recall that Kerry's hands were the ones on the weapons which ended the lives in question, nor that he strictly speaking forced the people who were responsible to do what they did -- especially since Kerry was speaking about a hypothetical decision that he would not as yet have the power to make. Seems to me that the only ones who can ultimately be considered responsible for the deaths of those people were the ones who wielded the weapons in question.
