my Tyan Thunder II...LX Chipset Twin Pentium II...I can use USB in the bios...prefers booting to SCSI...and nothing changes in the boot order if something is added...your problems aren't Tyan...hate to say it...but probably AMD and whoever built the BIOS...

I know what it's like to need a BIGGER Case...I've got FrankenBox (The Tyan) in a Full Tower...but it's too narrow for that Extended ATX form factor board...and I need more drive bays...twin channel Adaptec UW-SCSI is a nice thing...
