I got the same behaviour some time ago. It could work fine for quite some time, save a few unprovoked jumps around the screen, then suddenly go completely mad running around the place and clicking on everything! Gaaah!
Did a Gooogle for mad mouse decease - others have had it, but couldn't find any remedy.
After a while I found out that one of the tiny wires in its tail was exposed, and when rubbing against the aluminium foil coating of the cable it went ballistic. I bought a new one and thus end of the problem for me, but I saw people on some forum claiming the same as you, that changing the mouse didn't help. *shrug* |
