Electrical question by watsondog2004-10-21 15:17:50
Very Good idea by leistico 2004-10-21 15:28:38
Replace the outlets that are painted over. It's not just cosmetic. If paint has gotten in the slots, it can gum up the works and make for loose/faulty connections and make a fun little fire hazard. In addition to just looking tacky. Outlets come in lots of colors now, too, as do coverplates, so you can check on that if you wanna go beyond standard Leviton Ivory. They're only a couple bucks a pop or thereabouts. Might want to pick up a tester, too--looks like a plug and has three lights on it, and it tells you if everything's wired up right or not or where the problem lies.
