I agree on the possibility of applying pain in a positive way.
From personal experience, I am willing to change some things, very much so, but I am incapable of doing so *for myself, or by myself*, even if I am perfectly capable of thinking rationally. In my case, application of pain will only make matters worse. I have had a hard time accepting help from others, and forcing me to do so would also have made matters worse.
In the end, I am capable of changing, thanks to, most importantly, an altruistic act of someone and my will to change. |
