reference I'm back from fixing the two desktops that had intermittent network connection troubles. They are fixed. The helldesk minion I sent yesterday did not load the network card drivers as instructed (on one machine the files weren't even there to be unpacked, the other unpacked but not installed). Since they did not load the drivers they could not enable link checking as instructed. (3com905C-TX NIC) I was peeved enough that they didn't bring me the serial numbers as I had asked for if the new drivers didn't work. Now I'm furious. The PHB's response: "We'll tell him to be more thorough next time" This isn't the first time I've had this problem. Now it's my minion's turn to go out in the field and the minion assigned to desk duty is in the field with two other techs moving a @^#(^!& printer! (per PHB's orders) grrrrr....
