YOU DO NOT USE DESKSTARS FOR BACKUP SERVER! by Khaar2004-10-21 04:38:13
If I see one in a machine I have to rebuild by airborneric2004-10-21 06:04:23
    I ran a 45 GB Deskstar for years, by pecosdave 2004-10-21 07:04:18
as far as I know it still works, it's twin drive that I bought at the same time is in my Aunt and Uncles machine now, also been working for years. They used to be my prefered drive. I understand a few of the lines IBM put out were bad, but all the ones I used are still in service with the uncertainty of the stolen one.

I had a Travelstar go bad under warranty, but it was replaced, the replacement still works well. It replaced a 6 GB Travelstar that again worked just fine when stolen and had seen many years of abusive service. I can't concur on my experience.
