virtually any act could be regarded as selfish; that seems to be a very broad definition. I don't regard an act as selfish if it is not a conscious choice by the individual. (For example, if a 2-year-old child pulls a toy from another, that is a necessary example of psychological self-assertion which is developmentally normal at that age - it is not selfish.)
