University of New South Wales
I think it's pretty cool. It's away from the city centre (Sydney) and close to beaches, but close enough to the city that you can easily get in sight-seeing as much as you want.
Being in Sydney rocks, because it's got so much to offer in and of itself. But it also very easy to get away to other interesting areas of Australia - the Blue Mountains to the west are lovely, and can be done in a day or in a weekend. To the north, the Hunter has a love wine district, and the Hawkesbury River is just divine.
Within flying distance for a weekend trip are all the other important places to see.... such a Byron Bay... Melbourne, and other state capitals. And the Red Centre, should you want to do that (but only advised if it's in the winter, June/July/August....too hot in the southern summer months).
As far as the actual university goes, we have hundreds of study abroad students every session, and every one of them that I've met have really enjoyed coming to Australia and attending out uni. The program is well established, with lots of lovely staff to help out and organise group trips to many of the places I've mentioned... We're one of the top universities in the country, too, so your education certainly wouldn't be suffering by coming here!!
Ok, that's enough of a sales-pitch from me... Aside from pointing out the obvious that I'm here and I'd love to welcome another UFie to our shores! :) |
