My machine went fine. Wife's machine didn't go so well. It kept on throwing a "can't read from or write to database" errors. Tried the fixes I found on the net and then decided to start my own troubleshooting. Figured out what the problem was and got annoyed. It seems that my wife has been a member of My Points for quite a while. I knew it was spyware, but it seemed fairly straight forward so I just let her go with it. We had received value from the "points" earned (at least one magazine subscription) so we did benefit from it a little. Well, to start my troubleshooting, I picked the most suspicious (you guessed it - My Points) application and attempted to disable it with MSCONFIG. Upon reboot, it was back running. That's when I got annoyed. Boot into safe mode - disable it there - boot back into normal mode - successfully loaded SP2. Told wife that her program annoyed me. She wants to redeem the points currently built up and then she'll let me wipe it off. (BTW: It's still disabled...)
