Well that was an uncomfortable lunch meeting. by JustnCase 2004-09-24 13:28:27

It started off with all the people from our department getting together in one big room. The Associate VP then proceded to tell us that becasue of our deficit in the past, and budget cuts, We HAVE to make money this year or our department will likely be outsourced.

This seems sort of fair considering the size of our deficits in the past, but the printing and copying departments were merged last year. My side, the copying, actually made money! If they didn't merge us we would be sitting pretty. It's because of the print shop that we have to suffer and possibly loose our jobs! They don't seem to understand the concept of NOT outsourcing when the job can be done in house. They keep working overtime and their director lets them! :O

We just got a new digital press into the copy center. if the printing folk cooperate we can move most of the currently outsourced printing to it and save some money. Unfortunately the printing people seem determined to sabotage the chances for this new machine. ~~~>:(
