They are certainly "without a god".

Going by the current definitions, not really. Atheism is the Belief that there is no god. Your subject would not have such a belief, not having any knowledge of the underlying concept of "God".

Nor would he be an agnostic or a theist, as the same concept is required for those.

He would be a "none of the above".
