Man's best friend has a new skill. by wheresthefish2006-11-19 12:55:59

I didn't read the article just clicked it and saw the title however... But I've heard of stories long ago where some animals can sense seizures and some can also sense tumours. It is a small percentage of animals that can do this with the most common being dogs but I think it's not unheard of for cats to react sometimes too. Thew few animals that are found to have the ability are usually if people are willing to donate the special pet to help another... given to those with severe disorders where medication and surgery has not proven effective. The animal will sense and warn them and in some cases is trained to get help or try to lead them to safety before hand. Dogs that do this I think are given the same considerations as guide dogs, social therapy dogs, and hearing dogs are.
