Right now to see the temperature in BC where I am oot take a peak on my lj info page. It gets quite hot in this area in the summer up to 35C last year and it gets just below freezing in the winter. Most of our winter is rain or some mild slush. We get about 2-3 days of any real snow and it's usually only a few inches in this part of BC. Well unless your on the ski hills then plenty of snow up there(hence the winter olypics comming here). However if you go to eastern canada(ontario/quebec part of it) beware ice storms, dry(?) heat in the summer and just extreams... you've got hot and cold there and they are definitly both those. Also what stores and other places offer I've been told is diffrent. BC and in the west in general there are more things. Why that is so I'm not sure and it kind of baffles me considering there is more population in ontario and quebec.(my ex husbands sister and her family moved to ontario and one friend of mine here also did so I've heard of the diffrences... they all found back here in bc more mellow/liberal, more variety, and also milder weather overall) BTW while UVic/victoria is pretty it is also expensive to live on the island... more expensive than here and a pita if you need to use the ferry and come this way(ferry strikes et al). Also UVic/victoria is more wet. I have family living/working there and aquaintances on the island. Now if money isn't a concern and you don't care about the rain it's wonderful... it is a very beautiful place to live and the people are very nice there.
