cross-platform networking question: by cybergeek2004-09-24 07:24:29
  What isn't "ethernetable"? by Avium2004-09-24 07:52:23
the printer has no ethernet port. (n/t) by cybergeek2004-09-24 08:25:28
Well, there are a few options. by Avium 2006-11-19 12:55:59
  1. The first, and likely simplest, is to install the AppleTalk protocol on Windows 2000 and set up the printer. Microsoft has a How to for that.
  2. Move the printer to the Linux box and configure Samba to allow the Windows 2000 box to print to it and AppleTalk to let the Mac print to it.
  3. Set up AppleTalk on the Linux box to print to the Mac, then set up Samba for the Windows 2000 box to print to the Linux printer. What that will do is send the print job from Windows to the Linux box which will then forward it on to the Mac. Ugly, but it would likely work.
Personally, I'd vote for #1 since it would likely require the least amount of fiddling.
