PVC welds for leaks. It is a transformer that when activated puts out thousands of volts with almost no amperage. This causes sparks to jump to a piece of metal through a leaky weld.The foreman used to use this device for tricks all the time. There was a guy that would never put away boxes of bolts so one day the foreman (Todd) placed all the boxes piled on a table so the spark would travel through them and called the guy over. Todd then would wait for the guy to lean on a metal plate on the table and ZAP! He started cleaning after that. :) Another guy kept falling asleep at the drill press so Todd ran a wire to the press and every time he fell asleep ZAP! It took about ten tries before the guy reported a problem with the press. :)
