Yes, continue with it. With all of the people creating scripts and geegaws for the board, see if someone can set up an easy-to-use registration script - possibly even created as a link from the user's diary page, if Illiad/Yohimbe allows. Promote better, in some way, shape or form. Possibly go with categorical rounds as some have suggested in the past. On Idol site, include links to software, tips, free music, etc (links provided by users in the time leading up to the event).
