pictures of New York. It's just so tall ... and imposing ... and impersonal.
And commercial. Blech. I can't imagine walking down the street beside someone who is homeless and someone else wearing a $10,000 suit (for some reason, the $10,000 suit people still seem to walk in New York - unless I've been misinformed? I think the driving is just that bad there. Or maybe they're waiting to hail a cab). So, I guess I find even the personal face of New York rather impersonal. Teeming masses, I guess, are just not quite my thing.
Do you mind Vancouver much or is it enough of an urban sprawl (all up the valley, from what I understand) that it doesn't seem so ... much? (and I know you're moving to the country, I"m just wondering how much you dislike, if at all, Vancouveropolis as a city). |
