...people of the net unite... by EhreVerriet 2004-09-22 19:28:44
is it just me...or is the price of bandwidth getting a wee-bit excessive???...colour me disgusted...until last week I had Broadband through the local cable company (not-to-be-named multinational corporation)...but I opened my bill this past month and saw it was OVER $90USD...for INTERNET...and they're asaking the city for permission for another rate-hike for the first of the year (which they'll invariably get)...

SO...now I'm DSL'ing it...little over half the bandwidth for less than half the price...and when I finally move up north and into the country...I found a gigabit bi-directional satellite system that (with DirectTV Basic) is less than I was paying cable internet alone (ok...granted with the satellite I gotta buy the $600 worth of equipment up front)...
