Attn: German-speaking UFies (pronunciation query) by BaruMonkey 2004-09-22 19:20:59
My college chorus is doing a piece in German (a portion of Bach's Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme) and we have most of the pronunciation except one bit which we're not sure of: the 's' character underlined in, "Wir sind Konsorten der Engel hoch um deinen Thron." The sentence translates to English as "We are consorts of the angels high about your throne."

Is the s pronounced voicelessly (as in "hiss") or voiced, like a z (as in UFies)?
