but they supposedly took 27 minutes after first becoming aware of the hijackings to inform NORAD. A procedure that is to be accomplished immediately so interceptors can be launched. It would be hard to determine from that if Bush was aware of a third plane. However knowing that interceptors (and he would know because that was part of HIS job while an ANG Pilot) should already be on their way to meet any other errant planes it would seem reasonable that if the need were more urgent (as in a shoot down order being needed) they would have told him that they needed him to come with them.
