There was very low interest for the last go-round, nobody ended up having as much time to record as they thought they would (people kept asking for extensions), and there were a bunch of complaints about the steps taken to minimize the legal issues. In addition, the legal issues were never really sorted out, just sort of "hopefully" minimized by use of what was essentially an affirmative defense (which means admitting to all the elements of copyright infringement but claiming that there's an exception that covers what we were doing, but there's no proof that the steps taken actually would fall under that exception). I'd say it opens up way too much potential liability (especially for the organizers) for something that generates so little interest in the community.
