Great leadership at work by cristobal2006-11-19 12:55:59
  Interesting... by j5 2004-09-22 14:47:08
You sound convinced by Franken's notion that Bush lied about what he knew, so you probably won't accept my view..

but why should President Bush "apologize" when the U.N. also thought Iraq was hiding WMD programs? When the U.K. and even the French and Germans thought they had WMD? And the Russians thought they were about to USE them?

The dissenting U.N. members wanted to give Iraq more time to comply. President Bush believed 12 years of Saddam stonewalling was long enough.

Just this summer, U.N. weapons inspectors told the Security Council that they have seen evidence, including satellite photos, that Iraq had transported possible WMD technology out of Iraq in the days before and during the war. They also admit that large amounts of "known" WMD remain unaccounted for. Where did they go? But it's not popular to ask that question--it's much more popular to cover up possible U.N. corruption and simply state that Bush must have lied to everyone.

[rant warning]
And why on earth should the President of the United States stand there and act bashful about defending human rights and democracy in front of a bunch of bureaucrats who (unlike the USA and our "weak" coalition) won't act in the face of overwhelming evidences of atrocities happening in other dictator regimes today?
