Is the 5-pin in the gutter, or is it knocked off the lane? Is it the 3-pin lying in the left hand gutter, or the 4-pin?
Depending on viewpoint, you may see the 1-pin in the left gutter, and I may not. And you are currently assuming that we both agree on the same set of rules for bowling, and thus agree on what is significant and what is not.
Did you know that in Canada, when people say 'bowling' they normally refer to five-pin bowling? And that a perfect game is worth 450 points, not just 300? See how important it is to understand another's point of view and assumptions in order to communicate? To always be aware that one's truth is not the whole truth, and can differ from someone else's equally valid truth? |
