I think the problem is resolved, with the seldom-used, ill-documented `fstream` class. It allows you to (get this!) open a file for both read and write Too cool for school: also too cool for documentation, apparently. But I think this will get you on your way to what you're looking for, at least. Gotta' go - class in 45 minutes, and traffic between here and there is going to be a beast, if this morning's traffic was any indication.
