Engineers get a lot less in the UK than the US. In the UK EE's are paied OK but far less than less skilled jobs in similar industries. In the UK I'd effectivly priced myself out of the market. I moved to the US and got an effective 35% pay rise. From what I can tell the best pay is to get an engineering degree and go into "technical" sales. All true engineers will make fun of your claims to be technical but if you're earning 6 figures by the age of 25 who cares.
