Netflix has let me have... by Nea 2004-09-22 10:35:48
...DVDs for two weeks without bugging me about returns. I don't think I've ever kept one longer than that so I don't know when they do start asking you about them. I know my housemates (who have their own subscription) have held some for a month at a time before. They didn't tell me if Netflix asked for them back or not though.

As for lost ones, here's the blurb directly from Netflix's website:
"We're aware that discs may be lost during the shipping process, through no fault of our customers. We will replace the occasional lost disc free of charge. However, if the number of lost discs becomes excessive, we will place the account on hold for review and notify the customer via email."

Netflix doesn't sell DVDs as far as I know. I think it's purely a rental agency.
