Win2k3 SBS Help Needed - VPN by YakkoWarner2004-09-22 08:54:10
Default Gateways. by arccoyote 2004-09-22 09:05:34
This problem can occur if the machines don't have the VPN host as one of their gateways.

For example, if your PIX or router is your default gateway at 192.168.1.1, and the VPN server is 192.168.1.2, a ping from a VPN connected machine is going to appear to come from 10.x.x.x. This is not in the local subnet, so the reply will be sent to the default gateway, never reaching the VPN endpoint by way of 192.168.1.2.

You can either add a route to the default gateway that routes traffic for VPN-connected subnets to a gateway at 192.168.1.2 on the LAN interface or change your DHCP options to hand out both the default gateway and the VPN box as routers.
