...And put them down on pre-built foundations. No, I'm not kidding. Of course, some of the old stone houses were simply bulldozed since they couldn't be lifted off of the foundations.

There is one road between Iroquois and Morrisburg (the next town East) that now runs into the river. It used to be one of the main highways (#2). You can actually follow the old asphalt along the bottom. Quite a few people come around here to go scuba diving to see the old foundations.
