almost impossible for the government to control and more importantly for them, to tax. Let's face it - smoking is as dangerous to the lungs as asbestos dust, yet asbestos is a highly regulated and controlled substance while tobacco can be picked up anywhere. What I find laughably ludicrous is our governments' "crackdown" on smoking by extortionate taxation "to encourage people to stop smoking" had the obvious effect of making smuggling cigarettes into the UK a profitable venture. They are now whining that smuggling is costing the country billions in lost revenue. Revenue that would have been lost to them anyway if their "crackdown" had gone the way they planned. This hypocrisy makes me sick.
