That's a good idea, actually. Since I could get the HP for $50 (the HP) because of the student discount and then the rebate, my parents just had me get it. I'll try it out here with my desktop and laptop, and if I don't like it, I'll leave it here. I've got enough graduation money saved up to buy myself a new, non-dinosaur scanner if I need to. :-)
