Which printer should lucidpsyche use for college? by lucidpsyche 2004-07-14 21:37:36
Since I'm getting a new laptop as my graduation present, I'm thinking about getting a new printer too. However, I'm very, very satisfied with my present printer.

My two options:

HP PSC 2175 All-In-One
Basically, one of those printer/scanner/copiers. 19 b/w ppm; 13 color ppm. High quality color prints.

Canon i860 Bubblejet Printer (current printer)
I love this printer. I cannot even begin to describe how much better it is than my old printer. 23 b/w ppm; 16 color ppm. Same quality color prints. Does edge-to-edge printing with photos.

Now, I'm not bringing my scanner with me to college; it would take up too much room. Both printers are compatible with the computer I'm getting (heck, the student discount on mine takes about $100 off the price). I know that HPs seem to be reliable -- my really old one was (in fact, we still use it for my sister's old system), and the scanner would be nice for school. However, I am planning on getting a new digital camera (the one I use now is my mum's), and I want it to work with the "plug and print" options on the printer.

Oh, and no matter what -- my family is getting a new printer. If I bring my current one with me, my mom's getting a new one. Basically, she gets my desktop computer for all her AutoCAD work.

Soo... any thoughts?
