yes, the vote today was a good thing re: gay marriage. The amendment to define marriage as man+woman cannot proceed at this time.

What I found interesting was:

--the attempt by conservative Senators to substitute a simple statement of support of said definition for the actual amendment failed.
--the threat of outing gay Republican aides ... and dang it, that seemed to be effective. :) Note: I have mixed feelings about forced outings, but sometimes it just seems appropriate.
