I love eBay (sarcasm) :-) (and a question !) by AG_wyvern2004-07-14 15:58:24

    Caution noted, but... by AG_wyvern 2004-07-14 18:04:37
I actually asked on the ebay chat forum and a few sellers online at that point indicated that they would refund the shipping if it was them. I also had looked at a number of other auctions, with high-volume, high-feedback sellers and looked at their feedback. On a number of *them* people gave positive feedback when they *returned* and indicated that the seller covered the costs.

What particulary p4es me off in this case is that I *confirmed* with the seller before bidding that the software had not been registered. He said it "has never been registered" and "everything is new".

Bzzzzzzzzt.

When I called him on this after receiving it, he denied ever saying that. I copied his email to him and he said 'fine', but no postage.

He *lied* (on purpose or not, I don't know) on the sale. He *lied* when I called him on it. Now, *I* am the one who gets burned.

It's wrong. Even more annoying is I found the one neg he'd had in the last 6 months. It was from a seller who flamed him for leaving a negative. The neg that he left on *that* seller was because of overcharge on shipping.

He charged me $18US for airmail to Canada from NJ. Total amount he actually spent.... $11US.

So... I am crafting a factual, yet contempt-filled feedback message for him. And you know what? I don't care if he flames me back in feedback. I'll just close up the user and let my wife register for any further trading.
