| Sadly most prisons these days are essentially country clubs paid for by the taxpayers.
Where are people getting this? Sure, minimum security institutions are a little too minimum, and surely deserve the label of "Country Club," but they do not "most prisons" make.
Maybe things are oddly different down in the US, but in Canada, if you get sent to a Medium or Max security jail, either Provincial or Federal, you aren't going to be in for a fun time.
If I was still working at Pretrial I'd offer to take any dozen UFies on a tour. I can almost guarantee when you walk out of the place you'll be quiet and withdrawn. |
