and unto you userfriendly, i propose a challenge.. by Nightwind 2004-07-14 17:00:46
ok.
I'm saving up for a computer.
I've realised, I want TWO of them.

The main one has to hook out to dsl/cable modem, and be 'safe'. It should be equiped to run almost anything modern in the game world, and have sufficent space that I can install it all. Backups, redundancy, et all should be concidered. Dual monitors a plus especially if it can be suported from a single card, sorround sound and subwoffer and I'll grovel. It needs to connect out to computer two...

Ethernet from the other one, but this one is 'secure'. No web touchy. It's major point is that it needs to be able to run all the archaic games. Win 3.1, 95, and the timeframe dos. A *nix on seperate drive a plus.

Note that I don't list an os on computer one. but due to it being a 'game' system at heart, it will likely have to be something unstable (windows).

I have the feeling that this represents a dream, not a possible result. But I want to set it out on the line. Does anybody think they would be able to do it. Next raise will put me comfertably into the place where I can save rather rapidy for such a thing.
