Does that hold true for sale of used software? (n/t) by AG_wyvern2004-07-14 16:21:03
          Yes by Celticess 2004-07-14 16:30:45
transfer of license goes with used software... however they are supposed to provide copy of their registration/license. Which should either come with the box, be mentioned in the booklet with it, or be in a card in the box.

He claims the software wasn't used and he got it with system purchase. If they do that they must give disks with whats installed and though it's site licensed often they must provide papers for it afik. Not all people are aware of that but it is law here in canada though not sure about the US. But their copyrite law is more uptight there so likely yes he'll be in trouble. He had to provide a copy of his sales reciept that he got the software with(ie the invoice/purchase sheet showing it on the list). He can black out other info but he didn't... otherwise he has to provide you with the card/papers that came with the software for registration, etc. He didn't do that.

So yea he's able to get in trouble from them and if they find he's selling warez and making it look like it's the real mc coy which it may not be(it could be conterfiet) he can get sued.
