The small town of Boonieville, nestled in seclusion 30 miles from Whitehorse, only has a population of 30 permanent residents. When the paper carried an article stating that 1 in 15 people were gay, the townfolk drew lots, and Stephen was forced to add an 'e' to his name.
Sources close to the Edges say the couple is adjusting nicely to their new life, and Stephene has undertaken many new self-improvement projects, such as correspondence courses in cooking and home decorating. Their shack over the ice hole was recently painted, and the window now sports a lovely planter box filled with tundra.
The benefits are varied, including some that were never expected before the lottery. For example, Rob now has something more to discuss with the other guys than the color of snow. "Yeah, Stephene is on my case all the time," he fondly recounts. "Asks me to wipe my shoes before going inside. What's the point, we don't have a floor!"
